pushing the boundaries.

it all started out well. a long hard single speed ride, full of singletracks, dust and humidity. after two and a half hours, i was a little tired...
you know, this sport is so demanding- all it takes is a fraction of a second, and your'e on the ground. this is why i like it so much.
i am alright. just a little scratch... you have to push it to the limit, if you want to get faster, don't you? i guess one fall every week, without breaking anything does the job.

help!

i thought i had it, but its gone... i can't sleep. again. i have been running (or riding....) on 4 hours of sleep and its not working for me. i think i will go seek some medical help.
tonight was the worst. after being awake since 4 am last night, working in the yard all morning, and then riding 4 hours in the afternoon, i went to sleep at 12 at night, only to wake up at 2:45. am, that is. i have grown tired. no, really.
help...

a hard day's night...

my body's clock has been running at 80% accuracy. i have been sleeping alright, but in a scattered manner. 2 hours in the afternoon, and 5 at night- waking up around 4 am each morning. i have alot to do, so its been a nice run...
'been working in my new house's yard. its in a bad condition, so i pretended being a seasoned gardner, using my biking gloves as hand protectors. needless to say, my hands are sore and blistered.
its so nice having my family all around me. my sister maya, and her youngest, aviv, and this little one is guy, my brother's youngest.
god, i missed bamba.

feeling artistic like.

'went to my friend's, ofri, show tonight. her voice is truly out of this world. some people are just born talented like that, i guess.
then i went to see my friend, liraz, whose paintings are my favorite. call it abstract, modern, or plain nonsense, this is art in my eyes. and a great one, at that.
self portrait?

triple G.

Good friends. Good vibes. Good trails. who the hell needs more than that? the hard israeli singlespeed core, got together for a great day out. the bikes worked hard...
the riders? well, not so much. for me it was a great ride, on trails i have never been on, with some people i knew, and lots i hadn't. perfect...
it was all there. from the specially made, custom built, rigid forks- to the after thought, glued together by spit, made last night singlespeeds.
just the way i like it.

pass me that fork, will ya'?

every time i get somthing new for my bike, is a happy one. but a fork is a real treat. and not just any fork....
i have been waiting for this one for the past 7 months (!!). it was really hard to come by. now its here, and the smile on my face is bigger by the minute. in a few days i will have some info as to how it feels.

BTW...

the fact that i have a jet lag does not mean i have legs like a jet, and that i can now race on the pro tour. they don't use jet legs. they use drugs. and i don't like drugs. i tried it, and it does not make me faster, it just gives me a headache. and the munchies.

night rider...

well, i have jet lag. i went to sleep at 2 am, and woke up at 5:15... in the evening!! so i went out for a "morning" ride. thats one of the perks of being awake at night. its cooler outside, and the sunsets are nice.
hours? time? day light? its all for the weak, i say. big kudos to my friend, jeremiah bishop, who- within one month- won the american marathon championship, AND the short track championship. this guy is all over thr place!!
and, a "feel better" greeting to sue haywood. breaking her first ever bone in her body, on the last day as a pro rider... that must say somthing. don't know what. but it does. (maybe- be careful, while you ride your bike...). love you sue.

home again...

i am home. it feels right, and feels like a bit of a rest, after the hectic life of moving from one place to the other every day. its not like i have anything to complain about, you know...
meet my friend, bono. he laughs all the time, and is cute and funny. everything the real bono isn't, really.

the road ahead...

now, that my parents are on their way back to israel, and i am here in LA, i have the choice to go where ever i want to go. again. i have the RV, and an itch to move somewhere else.
the roads are calling. the possibilities are endless. where should i go next?
you know it.

hump a pole!

a friend of mine likes to take the pictures i put on my blog, and give them a little twist. and the guy is twisted. this is what you get. thanks chen.

LA big ride...

today i went on the longest ride i had done in LA. it started with a 7 mile, 1800 meters of vertical, and then went down on a great long singletrack. it was a good workout, after a while of laying low. the single speed worked awesome.
and this is bryson.(did i write it well...?). i met him and his buddies on the uphill. and he just happens to be the owner and manager of marzocchi!! we rode together for like three hours. it was nice to ride with israeli people, whom i met today, and also find some new faces on the trail.

here they go again...

that's it. my parents are leaving today. they are taking the red eye to new york, and then on monday they will land in israel. its a little hard to say goodbye again, after being together for the past month, in such a close(d) environment.
they truly surprised me with their flexability, and their willing to try new things, and go to new places. well, good bye mom and dad. i will miss you... see you in israel.

here is a clue...

this is the first clue as to what i am about to do after i go back to israel. it involves a single speed cruiser, and a rider with a mental problem... (yours truly).
this is for all my team mates. pink is the new black. (which in turn, is the new white...).

my pro dream may be over...

but what a ride it was. i will always ride, and will keep on racing, but i will choose only the races i like, and will race singlespeed most of the time. why? because it gives me more pleasure. or pain. depending on how you look at it, i guess.
today i rode in the hills of LA, and i have to say, i am out of shape. i will start a "training" plan, 'cause i need to get in shape. i have a little plan for a good story for the magazine, when i get back to israel. stay tuned.

LA- this time with my parents.

lior took us out to see some of the city, and have dinner. the weather was great, but the air is as smogy as ever. this is LA for you.
and my parents are having fun, and this is the most important thing.
oh guys, get a room! geeez.

the coast.

my parents are about to end their trip here with me in the states. and what an ending. we just arrived to LA, after taking the long tour- along the coast on highway 1. they have had so much fun on this trip, and i was amazed at how flexible they were. like they were my age or somthing.

like father....

well, we are not as similar as i thought.
we both have ears. that's about it.
big!! for those in the know...

diversity city.

i love san francisco. it has it all... its, by far, my favorite city in the states. it may be the gay people's mecca, but...
i also found out its the home for some nazi people. it is rather sad, but wouldn't it be funny if those nazi guys were gay? and jewish? the gang of the jewish nazzi gay guys.
they already have the nazis, and the gay people, can't they add the "jewish, biker, white wannabe rapper"...? i say yea!!!

in the shade of giants.

redwood national park is the host of the big trees. they are huge beyond anything i can explain, and you need to be there in order to understand.
a man taking a picture of the tree was a good light\shadow picture, and shows just how big those trees really are.

art shmart!

we changed our route, due to extreme heat around lake tahoe, and now we are in the out skirts of san francisco.
the roads around northern california are all smoky, cause of the forest fires, so going along the ocean is the cleanest way to go.
yairoosh, this is for you. love and kisses.
