night out.

so... i've been going out alot lately. i drink beer. i have a girlfriend. i ride alot, and i'm in shape.
can life be better than this? i doubt it.
adi and itay posing for the camera. i think adi is much better than itay doing so.

moran is definitely better than i am at this. i always look like a deer stuck in the headlights. she always looks like a million dolar model. i ride my bike faster, though...

its only natural...

this time of the year is the most beautiful thing. leaves fall off the trees, and the sunsets are long and colourful. the only downside is that the days are extremely short. i hate that. i have less hours to ride my bike.
this week i will put on some more hours, taking it up a notch- 20 to 23 hours. i spend too much time in tights...

same shit, different path.
i love riding my bike.

life.

riding every day, and writing for a living, is a dream come true. life somehow finds its way...
it happens while you are busy trying to get it together. don't miss it.
i got myself an H bar. it seemed right, because people call me H in the states. it's awesome. a little weird at first, after so many years of riding conventionally, but it is super comfortable and does not slow me one bit in the singletracks. good.

pubs. beer nuts. pretzels. french fries. pickels. smoke. music. beer.
life.

go long...

the mountain bike season is freakishly long with only two weeks of off season. ofcourse i couldn't stop my self from riding non stop. now i'm tired. it feels goooood.
as i told you, it rains for two days, and then its all sunshine for the next week or so. mother nature loves cyclists, but does she like the farmers? not so much, i guess.

mmmmmm. deep. and it works, too. really.

keep 'em coming...

the weather these days is so beautiful, i almost don't feel bad that its not raining. tom and I went for a ride that led us to my favourite spot on the cliff, high above the sea. the fresh air over there is somthing else, i tell ya'.
my breakfest doesn't seem to fill me enough these days. i ride and eat like crazy. i love it.

the sunsets are so red, even those ugly cars and stoplights can't ruin the beauty of the thing.
i say, bring on the rain. and then stop it, so we'll have some more of this mid winter summer.

i like it hot.

i forgot how long hours in the saddle make you hungry. i also forgot just how much food one can consume, especially if that person is an avid bike rider. well, i eat non-stop.
today, on my ride, i thought of new york city, and of the time i spent there riding into on coming traffic. i miss that alot. doing that in israel somehow just feels wrong. it also feels mighty deadly.

kick off !

road hours. can't live with them, can't live without them. its a pain in the ass, but it has to be done. so here's for not getting killed by crazy israeli drivers.
converting one of my mountain bikes into a road bike keeps me in my regular attack position. good. roadies hate me for that. they ride slower, mind you, so i think they are angry with me for a good reason...

the season's here!

tomorrow will mark the first day of the season. long rides- here i come. this season will see me make a career move- longer races, one gear. the first big race will be the 24 hour race in january. 24 hours, solo, singlespeed. ohh, the pain.

my girl...

she makes me feel things i have not felt for years... somtimes things happen, and it seems as though they came out of the blue. moran is one of these things. one of a kind. i just can't take my eyes off her. mmmmm....

driving mr. H

been driving alot in the past few weeks... kermit, my car, has been running great, and it's been very frugal, munching only 1 liter to every 16 km or so...
and its a good thing i have a personal driver, otherwise i would be too tired to ride my bike every possible moment. i think he's still high, but its wearing off now. good.

flying two wheelers...

then i went to see moran's brother in law jumps around on his motocross. this thing is scary. and noisy. it also smells all the time. its nothing like a bicycle. i think i like it.
30 foot jumps seem to vanish under those huge shocks. it seems rather easy, but i am sure its really very hard...

and finishing off a great day out, a huge burger had my name written all over it. mmmm... french fries...

my fault?

woke up yesterday, and went for a ride with shim'on, or as i call him- the israeli Ned Overend. the guy is seriously super strong. not a spare gram of fat on his body, and he climbs like a mountain goat.
since i took a picture of moran's devilish slippers, and i was very friendly to a black cat, i blame myself for the fact that shim'on took a hard hit as we descended a fast singletrack in "meirav" center.

so shim'on- i am sorry for all the times i took you out on a ride, and you fell hard. its not me, its that damn jinx.

israeli winter...

25 degrees, dry and sunny. where the hell are all the clouds? where is the rain? the shap looks mighty happy with himself for some reason. i think the guy likes it sunny like that.
Elmo was out today, too... he likes all those gadgety stuff, and he loves TVs. when he's high on BCAA he likes to watch "family guy", and eat pizza. mmmmm.... pizza.

BUSTED!!

i told you there was somthing fishy about the guy. he was caught red hended (every punn intended...), munching on BCAA. later he told me it was his coach, who told him it would do wonders for his long distance running abilities. Elmo took it a few steps too far. rehabilitation- here we come.

another beautiful weekend...

a weekend in the country... waking up late, taking my time, and going on a ride with a certain female pro rider. notice the stripes on the sleeves- its the american champion stripes. yes babe, your'e that fast.
Elmo was on vacation too... sitting in the sun in my back yard, dreaming of mexico, and sunny beaches. only the beer is israeli... look at his eyes. the guy is clearly high on somthing.

time flies...

i tend to count the days i've lived in my new house (not literally), by the count of the cuts on my cutting board. now its in a state of "pretty much alot, 10 years to go...". wooden cutting boards kick ass...
btw- i saw some old people playing golf yesterday... i'll say it again- GOLF IS NOT A SPORT. it has somthing to do with sweat. or the lack thereof, i guess.

beer. its all over the place...

i am starting here a new photo series. it will be Elmo in different places. see, i have been following the guy, and he's really all over the place. this is him, just coming back from a party, very late at night. he was singing to himself...

yes...

what can i say?

show time...

the show was great, even though i was not sure about some parts. it was crowded, too!! playing infront of an audience is like racing. all that training comes to a peak. i just wish i was playing the drums as much as i ride my bike...
i play the drums without my shoes. thanx for the great picture, dror. you know what i like.

looking far ahead...

time to rest a little bit. time to plan. time for new beginings. time for myself.
i have a show tomorrow in tel aviv. i play with a group, and its all original meterial. i havn't played on a stage in a while... its like racing your bike. my drum set has 2 pedals. that's where the similarities end though...

over trained, under slept.

look at those eyes... i've been logging endless one speed hours, and i am tired. time to take a break, then...
driving all over the country, whilst riding every day on a singlespeed, and sleeping in different places is hard on your body. its really good for your soul, though...

its not like it was in the states, where i carried my bed everywhere with me...
please do not disturb.

looking pro...

its very easy: you try to look fast, you dress up, and you get a killer photographer- lior dayan is the name. then you jump as high as you can.

and then, like me, you fall hard on the ground, only to be stopped by a tree. the tree's fine, thank you very much.
i'm going up north again... i've heard its beautiful there this time of year. huh!

somthing fresh.

somtimes you might be surprised at how fast you connect with someone. i was...

three some.

the be'eri race was a 3 hour, do as many laps as you can, try not to die, groups of 3 kind of race. i gathered a strong group, with shaked and the shap, and convinced them to join me on a single speed...
it paid off, as we won the general classification!! how do you like them apples, huh?

the shap in an intimate moment.
another weekend is in the books. woooohoooo!!

feeling high.

another crazy weekend. this time i was all over the country, climbing to the highest point in israel with the singlespeed nuts on friday, and racing in be'eri, near the gaza strip on saturday...
the climb was awesome. great weather, strong guys and perfect roads. it was an epic event, no doubt.

some are missing from this shot, but 16 nut jobs are not as hard to find, as i thought it would be... these guys are strong!! thanx for a great trip/training ride.
